WHEATLAND 9/7/02 (YSN) - One person died and five were injured when their sedan collided with a tractor-trailer rig at Ostrom and South Beale roads in Yuba County, the California Highway Patrol reported Saturday.

Yanet Aguilar, 19, of Wheatland, died Friday afternoon when a car driven by her mother, Leticia Aguilar, allegedly failed to heed a stop sign at Ostrom and South Beale roads, colliding with a truck operated by James Norvell, 48, of Fresno, the CHP reported.

Yanet Aguilar was pronounced dead at the scene. Her mother was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento where she was listed in good condition Saturday, a hospital spokeswoman said.

Four other unidentified passengers in the 1985 Lincoln Mark VII -- the driver's second daughter, a son and two nephews -- were transported to area hospitals, according to CHP reports.

A 9-year-old nephew was admitted to Rideout Emergency Center in Marysville, while a 6-year-old nephew was treated and released from Rideout, the CHP reported.

The location and conditions of the other two passengers could not immediately be determined.
