YUBA CITY 8/26/02 (YSN) - Names of two women killed in separate weekend traffic accidents were released Monday by the California Highway Patrol.
Angela Lee Reeves, 26, of Browns Valley died about 5:35 p.m. Saturday when her small foreign sedan went off Highway 70 just north of Feather River Boulevard in Linda and slammed into a tree, the CHP reported.
Reeves was traveling northbound at about 65 miles per hour when her Toyota Camry apparently drifted onto the gravel median strip and she over-corrected, control. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Claudia M. Magana, 16, of Live Oak died about 8 p.m. Friday when the vehicle in which she was riding northbound on Township Road near Witt Avenue left the road and the driver lost control, hitting a telephone pole.
Four other occupants of the vehicle, all minors, were injured, one seriously, CHP Traffic Officer Frank Gaither reported.
Jessica Vasquez, 16, also of Live Oak, was listed in fair condition Monday, a University of California, Davis, Medical Center spokeswoman said.
The driver and two other passengers were treated at an area hospital and released, according to Gaither.
