Delegate Zero, a.k.a., Subcomandante

It was another New Year’s Day and Mexico's Zapatista rebels were on the road again, according to the BBC's Claire Marshall.

The Zapatistas plan to tour Mexico's 31 states for six months offering a political "alternative” to the presidential elections now underway.
Their enigmatic, pipe-smoking leader, Marcos, has dropped the title of subcomandante to become Delegate Zero.

Still wearing his ski mask, this time he wants to build a national leftist movement through peaceful means.
Leaving the jungle village of Garrucha, they will go to San Cristobal and then march to the Yucatan Peninsula. Delegate Zero however, may do his marching on a motorbike, as an AP photo suggests.

Unlike their armed uprising on New Year's Day in 1994, the Zapatistas will carry no weapons, the BBC reported.

The Zapatista command and Delegate Zero have said the movement is “shunning mainstream politics as corrupt.”

Anti-corruption leftward movements have won significant advances in Latin America, in Venezuela, Uruguay and, most recently, in Bolivia.

It is not known whether rebel leader formerly known as Subcomandante Marcos has viewed the recent Ben Kingsley movie Suspect Zero. But before Delegate Zero gets too far into it, he might want to talk to the rock star Prince, who became The Artist Fomerly Known as Prince, because for awhile he preferred to be called (insert squiggle mark), but publcists couldn't handle that so he has gone back to being The Artist Presently Known as Prince Once Again, or, just Prince, for short.
