Crash victim ID'd

YUBA CITY (2/5/03) -- The California Highway Patrol Wednesday identified the youth killed in a solo vehicle accident on Garden Highway last week as Heer Bhopinder, 15, of Yuba City.

Bhopinder died about 5:15 p.m. Friday when the Lexus in which he was riding veered off the roadway and struck a tree near Stewart Road, the CHP said.

The 17-year-old driver and a second passenger, 14, were treated and released from area hospitals following the accident, the CHP reported. The CHP withheld their names because of their ages.

The accident remains under investigation.
