Personal stories written as features by whomever for whatever and collected daily online, this is a surprisngly entertaining site: toowrite.com.

For news reporters, which are now apparently called "journos" -- at least in the UK -- there is the priceless site, holdthefrontpage.co.uk. It depicts itself as "All today's news from the UK regional press, plus what you may have missed in recent days"

It offers such newspaper fare as this excerpt from a story by a 30-year veteran of a weekly commenting on the people who have staffed the paper over its 110-year history. E.g.:

Not all reporters were quite so dedicated. In the 50s, a scribe was assigned to cover the last journey over the Lincoln-Retford railway line before the branch closed. He got to the station late and missed the train.

To his credit, he hung around until it chugged back into Lincoln and then wrote an extraordinary piece about all the things he hadn't seen, including the classic observation, 'I missed the train to Retford and couldn't come back on it either.' Quite so.
