More like a blueprint
for re-election, really

MARYSVILLE 4/28/02 (YSN) -- Nowhere in this NY Times story is anyone opposed to this far-fetched plan asked about the wisdom of this Iraq invasion "plan."

This was not how D-Day was done. Secrecy was employed there, because soldiers' and sailors' lives were at stake. Here a normally hyper-secretive administration has opted for maximum publicity. Either lives soldiers mean nothing to administration officials, or this is an unsubtle warning to potential presidential candidates that a war will be underway during the usual campaign season and any challengers can count on being called traitors.

The Republicans whooped about "weapons of mass destraction" when Clinton attacked in the Balkans just as impeachment reared. This is much more despicable example of wag the dog. It's threats of wagging the dog.

Around the Internet there seems to be little or no reaction to this astoundingly stupid ramp-up.
